This folk art sculpture is handmade by Ben Gatski in Pennsylvania. The Woodpecker is created entirely from recycled farm machinery. The metal is thick steel from weathered farm machinery. The colors are the original paints from the farm machines. The pattern is hand drawn on the metal with soapstone and cut with a hand held plasma cutter. The bird is then hand hammered and arc welded into shape. This woodpecker is sitting on a piece of hemlock wood that was harvested from our property.

The metal is sealed with a water-based enamel. Each piece will have subtle variations. They are cut by hand and each piece of metal has slight color differences.

Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
